Below is our schedule, but sometimes schedules change — we’ll update this website if needed and appreciate your flexibility!

Wedding Location: Hood Canal Vista Pavilion: 4740 View Drive NE, Port Gamble, WA 98364.

The Point Hotel Guests: For those guests staying at The Point Hotel, there is a shuttle running between the hotel and the wedding venue. The first shuttle will be at 3pm, the second at 3:30pm. The ceremony will be followed by:

Travel Tips

Port Gamble is on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula. You can drive there from the greater Seattle area by either Driving around through Tacoma over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge or taking a car ferry (from Seattle to Bainbridge Island or from Edmonds to Kingston ). You may have heard that the WA state ferry system is having multiple delays this summer – if you have flexibility in your timing, driving around might be the best option to arrive on time to the wedding. We’ve also heard anecdotally that Seattle-Bainbridge is having fewer issues than Edmonds-Kingston.

Ferry Schedules

For the most up-to-date schedule, please check the WSDOT Ferries website or WSDOT app for your route.

Update 8/17: The Edmonds/Kingston Ferry continues to have significant delays, especially on Saturday mornings. We recommend that guests drive around through Tacoma, or take the Seattle Bainbridge Island Ferry.

If you are driving onto the ferry, please allow plenty of time to catch the ferry on your way to the wedding. Saturdays are often very busy, and there have been ferry service issues this summer, so you may miss your ferry because it is full—even if you arrived at the ferry terminal on time. We suggest arriving at the ferry terminal at the scheduled departure time prior to the one you planned to board. You can check the WSDOT app’s live ferry traffic updates and webcams to monitor how busy it is on our wedding day.

While the ceremony will begin around 4:00pm, we’ll be monitoring traffic and can adjust our start time if a lot of people are having difficulty arriving on time.

Below, we put together a list of the most relevant departure times for Saturday, August 20. For each ferry departure time, we included estimates for when you would likely arrive at the wedding venue. The WA State Ferry system has been operating with reduced/alternative schedules quite often this summer. It is likely that the ferries will be running on a reduced/alternative schedule on our wedding day. We won’t know until the morning of August 20 whether the full schedule or the reduce/alternative schedule is in effect. The reduced/alternative schedule is indicated in bold below. If we are lucky, the full schedule will be in effect, which includes all departure times listed below.

What to Wear

Summer semi-formal is our general suggestion, and we want all of our guests to wear something that you feel comfortable in!

Shoes: We’ll be on grass for the ceremony and throughout parts of the evening. We suggest avoiding thin heels.

COVID-19 Precautions

[Updated 8/5/2022] As indicated in our invitation, we are requiring all of our guests who are eligible to be fully vaccinated and boosted in order to attend the wedding – thanks for sending in your vaccination documentation, if you haven’t yet, please do!

Our wedding is at an outdoor venue, here are some details related to the space:

  • There will be around 130 people attending
  • The ceremony is planned to be outside.
  • Dinner will be under a huge tent with good airflow.
  • Dancing will be inside a building with a wall of open doors to increase airflow. Dancing can also spill onto the outdoor patio.

The case numbers in our area are still fairly high, so we are asking our guests to please:

  • Take a rapid test on Saturday or Friday before traveling to the Port Gamble area. While we regret the situation, if you do test positive, please do not come to the wedding. (See below for tips on ordering free rapid tests).
  • Please monitor your symptoms in the week leading up to the wedding. If you are not feeling well, even if you don’t test positive for COVID, we encourage you to consider staying home for your and others’ health. (We will surely miss you, but please don’t feel back about staying home).
  • Finally, consider bringing a mask in case you’d feel more comfortable at any point, such as during the ceremony and dancing. We’ll have some extra N-95s and KN95s at the welcome table.

For those traveling on airplanes:

We encourage you to take a COVID test prior to flying as a good public health measure. Additionally, we encourage you to wear a snugly fitting N-95 mask that will provide the best protection while you are in the airports, airplanes, and on any public or shared transit.

We encourage everyone to order more free COVID tests to have on hand! Here are some resources:

  • If you’re in Washington State, visit https://sayyescovidhometest.org/ to order 10 tests for your household each month (so if you ordered some in June, you can order more in July, then more in August).
  • Federal Government free tests: https://www.covid.gov/tests
  • Options to order through Rite Aid where most insurance will cover up to 8 tests per month.
